NAPLES HOSTS AMERICAS CUP
The first championship races this year for America’s Cup World Series are listed to begin within three weeks. The Championships begin from 11th April, on the waters off the city of Naples in Italy.
Italian fans will be blown away by the America Cup. Italian fans are the most fanatical in the world. They are dedicated, exciting and die-hard fans who really enjoy the competition. Being a new game, it will be a lot more exciting and the Italians will love it thoroughly.
A revised format for the event has been published which provides a fair schedule of match racing, speed trials and fleet racing across the five days of competition. The competition ends on 15th April when the winner of the Naples Fleet Race Championship will be crowned.
Each fleet race will be of 35 minutes duration which is longer than it was previously. The Fleet Racing Championship will be decided by performances across all nine races.
From the first start gun, the teams will need to be at the top of their game. Each race is critical to remain in contention for the Championship heading into Sunday’s big climax. The race courses will remain very rigid, placing a premium on boat-handling and crew work.
The match races will be short and sharp. The target time will be of 15-minutes. Teams will contest for 3 days to move ahead through to Saturday’s one-race face-off for the Match Racing Championship. But here too, the format is unforgiving – crews must win to advance. A single loss would mean elimination.
The infrastructure in Naples is proceeding on schedule, to facilitate the expected visitors by the first week of April. Along the shore, the public Race Village will be open from 7th April till 15th April. Public entertainment will be held each night, in the Race Village in Naples.
